Putin presents zoo animals, together with lions and bears, to the North Korean zoo

MOSCOW (Reuters) – Russia has transferred greater than 70 animals, together with an African lion and two brown bears, from the Moscow Zoo to the zoo within the North Korean capital Pyongyang, the Russian authorities mentioned on Wednesday.

The animals had been “a present from Russian President Vladimir Putin to the Korean individuals,” the federal government mentioned.

Alexander Kozlov, Russia’s minister for pure assets, oversaw the switch of the animals, which had been flown to the Central Zoo in Pyongyang accompanied by veterinarians from the Moscow Zoo.

Images launched by the Russian authorities present a white cockatoo touring in a crate and Kozlov receiving a tour of the Korean Zoo from native officers.

In April, Russia donated birds, together with eagles, cranes and parrots to Pyongyang’s Central Zoo.

Pyongyang and Moscow have cast nearer ties since Putin visited the nation in June and concluded a treaty with North Korean chief Kim Jong Un.

During that journey Kim gave Putin a pair of Pungsan canine, a neighborhood breed. The two additionally took turns driving one another in a Russian-built Aurus limousine.
