Hotel collapse in Argentina: one lifeless, stories say

One individual has reportedly died and a number of other others are believed to be trapped in rubble after a lodge collapsed in Argentina.

The 10-story Dubrovnik lodge within the coastal city of Villa Gesell collapsed early Tuesday morning, Reuters information company reported, citing the native municipality.

Around 15 individuals are believed to have been contained in the lodge, which not too long ago underwent renovations.

Rescue groups are at work on website attempting to free these believed trapped. Local media report {that a} man in his 80s died on account of the crash.

Local authorities mentioned building work on the lodge was stopped in August by order of the municipality as a result of renovations had been being carried out with out the mandatory permits.

However, neighbors advised reporters that work on the constructing had continued regardless of the cease order.

The Argentine Minister of National Security, Patricia Bullrich, published on X that two specialised groups had been despatched to the location, within the province of Buenos Aires.

He mentioned there have been structural engineers, rescue specialists and a crew of educated canines within the collapsed buildings, in addition to workers with specialist equipment and sources to assist the rescue operation.

The province’s safety minister, Javier Alonso, advised native radio that 4 bricklayers engaged on the development website had escaped the collapse and had been arrested by police.
