HONG KONG: Scientists have found dinosaur fossils in Hong Kong for the primary time, town authorities introduced on Wednesday (October 23), including that the species stays unknown.
Experts from Hong Kong and mainland China recognized the fossils as belonging to a big historic dinosaur from the Cretaceous interval, about 145 million to 66 million years in the past, the Development Bureau stated in a press release.
The first people are believed to have appeared on Earth about six million years in the past.
Further evaluation can be carried out to verify the species of the dinosaur, the word reads.
The fossils can be on public show beginning Friday, he added.
They have been found on Hong Kong’s distant northeastern Port Island, the place suspected vertebrate fossils have been first noticed in sedimentary rock in March.
The small, uninhabited islet – a part of Hong Kong’s 150-square-km UNESCO World Geopark – has been closed since Wednesday for additional excavation.
