Cyclone Fengal kills 19 individuals in India and Sri Lanka

NEW DELHI: Cyclone Fengal killed at the very least 19 individuals in India and Sri Lanka and induced floods in Tamil Nadu state and the Puducherry area after crossing India’s southern coast from the Bay of Bengal on Saturday (Nov 30).

Puducherry has been hit by the heaviest 24-hour rains in 30 years, the India Meteorological Office stated on social media on Sunday.

The cyclone left components of the southern metropolis of Chennai inundated. Flights from town have been quickly suspended on Saturday, however resumed early Sunday morning, Indian airport authorities stated.
